Danny has posted the following message on his MySpace Blog:

Where have I been?

Since coming home from the UK (which by the way was great; thank you to all those cool people in Ireland, Scotland, and England who helped me thru those shows)... I have noticed a question that keeps coming up over and over again: namely, where the hell have I been?

Well, the quick version is... I moved to Los Angeles in 2000, made a solo album in 2001 (no, it was never released... no, I never "shopped it", or whatever you're "supposed" to do - it remains in some studio in LA), and moved back home to New York City in early 2004. I have played a handful of shows, some on the west coast, some in New York and the surrounding area... mostly acoustic, some with a band, electric. I have played the Knitting Factory in LA, Molly Malone’s (I love that fucking place)... Mercury Lounge in New York City, closed down the Continental, had a special show at the Goldhawk in Hoboken (thanks to Christine Smith and the guys at the Goldhawk... be back soon)... a few more... got to fulfil a dream by playing guitar with none other than miss Debbie Harry at Irving plaza in September 2005, which was a thrill (not to mention a fucking good gig, my brother Michael on drums -amazing). Done a bunch of other shit I can't remember... sang a few with old friends... just for old times' sake and to heal some wounds. Made a recording of acoustic stuff for release on the UK tour... anyway, I hope that kind of helps...

With any luck, I’ll be back out there this year and finally have an album out... or two. Working on a book, very half assed… we'll see... Hope to see you all out there. I appreciate hearing from you and all your kind words and thoughts... it really made a big difference to me the past years.

SEPTEMBER 24th 2006

Danny now has an official MySpace page which can be found at: www.myspace.com/dannysage

"Hi, after much foot shuffling, years of malaise, and general laziness, here I am on MySpace. My friends have made me the offer to keep this running. Since I am so incredibly inept at doing anything like this myself... how could i say no? This is to hopefully keep anyone who might care, aware of my comings and goings, stuff I am doing, and my general well-being. I hope you like it and if you want to reach me, I guess this is a good way if you live far away. If you wanna be my 'friend' (or even enemy) add me, or whatever the right protocol might be. See you out there... and thanks!

Danny"

...And you can see Danny "out there" on Friday November 17th at The Goldhawk Hoboken, NJ ( 8:30pm)

SEPTEMBER 24th 2006

Danny performed a live set at the Continental on September 14th. Also on the bill were Danny's
ex-D Generation band mates
Jesse Malin, who headlined the show, Richard Bacchus & Howie Pyro who was the DJ for the evening.

Danny also joined Jesse Malin for a cover of Neil Young's 'Pocahontas'.

Some pictures of Danny's performance can be seen here.

This was part of the final week of shows at the legendary NYC Rock club which in its time has played host to the likes of Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, various Ramones, & was a favourite haunt for D Generation.

Danny spoke to me about the show he played last week at the Mercury Lounge, NYC, in support of his ex-D Generation band mate Jesse Malin:

The gig was really fun... Everything is going well, I was offered a bunch of other shows which I will try to do. I have no plans for the record, maybe by 2011 or so... whatever, I'm recording a lot.

Danny

The other band members performing with Danny were:
Glenn Sherman (guitar and vocals)
Johnny T. (drums)
Mickey James (bass and vocals)

Some pictures of Danny's performance taken by Bob McAdam can be found in the Danny Sage Pictures section.

NOVEMBER 20th 2005

Danny Sage & Michael Wildwood joined Debbie Harry of Blondie on stage at Irving Plaza, NYC on September 18th for her performance at Mojo Aid, The Hurricane Katrina Relief Benefit show organised by Jesse Malin.

I did a show in September at Irving Plaza with Debbie Harry, I played guitar for her. Michael [Wildwood] was behind the drums, which made it extra special for me. We all had a great time, we did a few Blondie songs, and we did "Havana Affair". It was a real thrill for me, I am a huge fan. It was a highlight of my career, definitely.

AUGUST 26th 2005

Danny joined his ex-D Generation band mate Jesse Malin on stage at the Bowery ballroom in NYC last night. The pair performed two songs together,

Thanks to Bob McAdam for the photo!
one of which Danny sang. Here's what Danny had to say about the show:

Hard as it might be to believe, I was onstage in New York City with Jesse. He invited me to the gig, and suggested that I come up and play a song of mine. I asked him to pick one, and he picked one he likes called ‘No One Loves You Now’... so, that's what I did. It was really cool of him, very generous, and it was a really fun night. We also got up to do ‘Helpless’ by Neil Young, with our old friend Ryan [Adams]. It was messy, but in a good way. I think everyone had a good time... and I guess I am looking forward to playing a bunch of New York shows this fall... and hopefully get this album out, finally! We'll see...

Yours,

Danny

FEBRUARY 14th 2005

Since D Generation broke up in 1999 Danny Sage has been out of the spotlight but he has been busy writting & recording a new full length album, that is yet to be released, and playing some live shows in LA. After some hard searching I finally tracked Danny down and he kindly agreed to answer some of my questions... Read my interview with Danny & find out what he's been up to for the last six years and what we can expect from him in the near future... as well as getting down to the nitty gritty with some of those unanswered questions about D Generation.
